Aldar Properties has unveiled two major projects – Ferrari World and Al Gurm Resort – which will boost the residential, commercial and tourism facilities in the UAE capital.
Ferrari World follows an agreement between Ferrari and Aldar to develop an innovative and exciting concept in Abu Dhabi themed around the renowned Ferrari brand.
The development will provide entertainment for the whole family and the initial concept envisages a race track, numerous rides and attractions, an opportunity to allow visitors to learn the history of Ferrari, to participate in Ferrari motoring activities, and to experience the Ferrari brand also through virtual simulations.
Another important feature of the facility will be an advanced and sophisticated circuit where tests and driving courses will be organised and races will be held. The concept will include hotels, retail, residential and hospitality elements embracing the design ethics of the Ferrari brand.
“We have commenced our design programme, so that we can launch the development to the world very early next year. The development will then be constructed on a fast-track programme, targeting a public opening in 2008,” said Aldar’s chairman Ahmed Al Sayegh.
The Al Gurm Resort will be a prestigious waterfront resort and residential complex on the western edge of Abu Dhabi island. It will consist of a premier 161-room international luxury hotel, as well as 59 exclusive villas. It will offer visitors and residents opportunities to appreciate and enjoy the beauty and serenity of its surroundings, while providing guest and residential facilities that are unique.
The five-star hotel will be an island resort that will fully complement the villa development. It will provide a mix of stunning chalets on individual islands along with an array of all-suite accommodation centred on a lagoon. “Construction work is now under way to deliver the resort to the world through a soft opening in early 2007, with the complement of villas following shortly thereafter,” said Al Sayegh.
