The first electricity inter-connection between Abu Dhabi and Dubai as part of the Dh850 million ($231.4 million) Emirates National Grid will be commissioned next March.
Full commissioning of the project is expected to take place by the last quarter of next year. “Work on the grid is on track and the first inter-connection between the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (Adwea) and Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) is scheduled for March 2006,” Giles Nicoud, Gulf resident manager, Electricitie De France (EDF), was quoted as saying.
“The full commissioning of the Emirates National Grid will happen in the last quarter of 2006,” he said.
