Al Qassim plans new cement factory

The Al Qassim Cement Company and the Tabuk Cement Company have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), to carry out economic viability studies for a new cement factory in northern Saudi Arabia.

The two companies would be equal share partners in the new factory – to be owned by a new company, separately.
Board president of Al Qassim Cement Company, Prince Abdul Rehman Al Abdullah Al Faisal said: “This agreement is the first of its kind in the field of cement production, between the two companies. Studies are being carried out to determine the most suitable location for the factory and four sites have been suggested in northern Saudi Arabia. It would take three years to build the factory.”
