Lintec's asphalt plant ... an attractive proposition.

Leading construction equipment manufacturer Lintec has recently introduced its new containerised asphalt mixing plant that boasts several features benefiting the operator and owner.

Designated the Lintec CSD1500, the new 120 tonne-per-hour plant – housed within 100 per cent ISO sea containers – offers several advantages that include low transportation costs, reduced energy consumption, reduced noise, dust and pollution, together with an exceptionally quick assembly and dismantling process, says a company spokesman.
“We are the only company in the world that offers its products in this format,” he claims.
“The CSD 1500 – offering a well-designed building concept, comprising stacked containers to give a neat appearance to a site – can be installed within a week depending upon site conditions. The model is also easy to dismantle and reassemble in a new location especially in instances while working along a major highway.
“The aggregate density of the CSD1500 is 1.6 tonnes/cu m with a batch size of 1,650 kg and a batch cycle time of 45 seconds. The CSD1500 has four to five screening sections – the same as Lintec’s higher specification models such as the CSD2500 and the CSD3000.
“This, coupled with a similar hot stone bin capacity as the larger models and a reclaimed filler silo capacity of 25 tonnes, makes the 1500 an attractive proposition for many applications for considerably less financial outlay,” he says.
“Transportation costs for the containerised system are also kept to a minimum as each of the units is supplied in 100 per cent ISO sea containers that have been thoroughly inspected and certified by Germanischer Lloyd. Containerisation allows for low freight rates, fast transportation, no excess weight and width and no low loaders,” he explains.
In addition, the machines require no foundation as the ground area of the containers ensures stability on compacted soil. The components of the system are erected and all motors, screws etc, run through a test phase.

Environmental considerations
“Lintec has also taken into consideration several environmental issues with the introduction of the CSD1500. The tower plant comprises stacked containers that provide a pleasing industrial factory view. It operates with low noise and dust emissions (lesser than 20 mg/N cu m) and the amount of heat loss into the atmosphere is kept minimal due to the enclosed containerisation.
In addition to these features, the plant is equipped with systems – also housed within the containers – that offers up to 30 per cent recycling capacity, wherever possible.
“The new model has also taken into consideration the reduction of energy costs. The screening drum mounting, for instance, allows the elimination of the hot elevator that are associated with other tower plants and combines the process of heating and screening of minerals into a single process unit, thereby removing process heat due to the material transportation.
“Also, the heated minerals benefit from the conducted heat that is produced from the drum shell generating further savings,” he explains.

Safety
“The CSD1500 has improved safety considerably,” says the spokesman. “The stacked containers are accessed by a central stairway that is fully protected to ensure operator safety, as well as giving full access to the required levels. At the base of the plant tower, the staircase and other areas can only be accessed by one main lockable security door, thus safeguarding the plant from theft and vandalism.”
Established in 1919 by Eduard Linnhoff, Lintec started business with manufacturing asphalt mixing plants in Berlin, Germany. Since then, the company has specialised in developing, manufacturing and marketing of asphalt mixing plants and equipment and currently supplies both asphalt mixing plants and concrete mixing plants in 100 per cent ISO sea containers worldwide.
Lintec also produces a range of containerised concrete batching plant, all housed in similar containers. Further advantages for the customer are provided by strategic alliances with LT Linnhoff and ASCO, allowing the company to supply its own products, together with mastic asphalt equipment, plant rental and financing arrangements.
