The Technical and Automotive services division of Mohammed Jalal and Sons – a leading Bahrain-based dealer in construction machinery equipment – is looking forward to a promising period in business with the kingdom planning to invest BD570 million ($1.5 billion) on new flyovers and underpasses, staggered over a 17-year period.
The division, which deals with some of the leading international manufacturers of construction and heavy equipment, has successfully completed the delivery of the IR-ABG’s Titan 325 paver with VB78 screed to a local contractor and is looking forward for more orders, says a company spokesman.
“Titan 325 is designed for placing any kind of wearing, binder and base course materials in large paving widths and thicknesses,” says a spokesman for Allgemeine Baumaschinen Gesellschaft (ABG).
It has been highly rated in varying applications, such as highways and secondary roads, airports, landfills, railway tracks, and bituminous blankets and structures in hydraulic engineering.
“Equipped with a standard electrical system, the Titan 325 provides excellent user comfort with local service support,” he says.
As a member of the Ingersoll-Rand family of companies, Germany-based ABG has been offering customers much more than the world’s best-built, best-backed pavers, since it was established in 1945. When it comes to the construction of roads, airports and other key infrastructure, not many companies have made a greater impact than ABG, says the spokesman.
“Since its introduction in 1965, Titan pavers have quickly become an export success giving ABG a strong position on the world market.
“We provide the global presence, technological resources, and promise of a long-term commitment that few can match. The IR Company is a $9.6 billion corporation with a major presence in the infrastructure, industrial, climate control, and security industries,” he adds.
Established 40 years ago, the machinery and equipment division of Mohammed Jalal and Sons has gained a considerable reputation for its personalised service and dependability.
Apart from marketing world-class compaction and paving equipment in the kingdom, the division also represents a wide range of leading international equipment manufacturers within such areas as water and waste water management; construction and maintenance; earthmoving machinery; cranes and power generators; material handling and transportation; airport and aircraft support equipment; welding, safety and security; and also provides services and supply equipment to the oil, gas and petrochemical industry.
Within its power generation portfolio, the division offers MTU diesel-driven generators from Ingersoll Rand, ranging from nine to 500 kVA prime power models, available either in ISO or CIR containers. These models feature state-of-the-art diagnostics and controls provided by the IR Intellisys control system.
“Easy to operate and simple to maintain, IR’s generators are modular in design, allowing them to be tailored to meet specific application requirements. In the equipment rental industry in particular, this helps to achieve the desired balance within the generator fleet to optimise the machine utilisation rate,” says the spokesman.
He continues: “To support our diversified range of activity, the division has developed a sophisticated system for after-sales customer service and supply of spare parts.
“Our staff regularly undergo sophisticated training programmes organised by our principals to provide excellent after-sales support.”
The sales force of Mohammed Jalal plays an active role with its customers through the processes of tendering to the completion of projects.
“Various divisions of the company within the group have between them the resources to complete the most complex turnkey projects which may require combined services including sourcing of materials and equipment for projects and involve themselves in project management, planning as well as maintenance of equipment,” he says.
Mohammed Jalal maintains an extensive stock of spare parts to support all the equipment it supplies, using the latest computer systems that allow regular follow-up of replenishment schedules with manufacturers.
The company’s fully equipped workshops – complete with specialised tools, skilled engineers trained by the equipment manufacturers and supported by experienced mechanics – take care of the assembling of the equipment and completion of pre-delivery inspection and regular servicing schedules in accordance with the manufacturers’ recommendations. They also train user-client operators in the safe operation and maintenance needs of all types of machinery and equipment they purchase.
Mohammed Jalal and Sons is a distributor for wheel loaders from Kawasaki; portable and stationary compressors, pneumatic tools, road marking machineries, paving breakers and hoists and winches from Ingersoll Rand; material handling equipment, overhead traveling cranes and monorail hoists from Demag; and excavators from Hitachi.
The company also deals in dumpers from Thwaites; passenger material hoists from Alimak; truck-mounted concrete pumps, plastering machines and mortar machines from Putzmeister; tower cranes from Raimondi, trucks from Mack; material handling equipment, reach trucks, hand and electric pallet trucks, stackers, platform trucks and order pickers from Rocla; and water treatment solutions from Rowafil water cycling, among others.
