Capital Investment International (CII) has received bids for the main construction works package on the Dh404 million ($110 million) Capital Towers project to be built on Shaikh Zayed Road in Dubai.

The bidders are local Al-Habtoor Engineering Enterprises, Arabian Construction Company (ACC) from Lebanon, Arab Technical Construction Company (Arabtec), another local company, Athens-based Consolidated Contractors International Company (CCC), Daewoo Engineering & Construction Company of South Korea, Grinekar LTA, South Africa, with local Al-Jaber Transport & General Contracting Establishment, Nasa Multiplex, local/Australian and Tepe Akfen of Turkey.
The project will be awarded later in the month. The project will be implemented in two phases: Phase 1 covering an apartment tower and car park building, and Phase 2 covering the hotel, furnished apartments tower and related facilities.
The package calls for the construction of two towers on a large podium, which will accommodate retail outlets, a ballroom, meeting rooms and a health club.
Tower one of 35 storeys, will house a five-star hotel and furnished apartments. Tower two of 42 storeys will contain unfurnished apartments.
The contract will also entail the construction of a separate multi-storey car park.
The project will take 20 months to complete. The consultant/architect is the UK’s RMJM. The project manager is the US’ Hill International.
