Jotun Powder Coatings ... global ambitions.

Jotun Powder Coatings, a leading manufacturer of powder coatings in the region, says its leading finish for architectural aluminium Corro-Coat PE-SDF continues to gain popularity in the region.

Corro-Coat PE-SDF, which is offered with a comprehensive 25-year exterior warranty, meets the most stringent construction requirements of quality, durability and design, says  Faez Kneider, Jotun Powder Coatings’ technical specifications manager in Dubai.
“The introduction of the “Super durable” polyester binder technology has revolutionised the aluminium finishing industry by offering powder coatings that provide a performance comparable to the most durable wet paint systems, yet maintaining the classical environmental advantages at significantly reduced cost,” he says.
He continues: “Architects and consultants have the endless task of sourcing superior quality, cost-effective, decorative and protective products used in the finishing of aluminium facades and major interior features. In order to enhance style and design flair, products providing a wide spectrum of colour, gloss and surface finishes are required. This, of course, must be combined with properties to withstand extreme levels of ultraviolet (UV) light, various levels of humidity, high and low ambient temperatures and other environmental pollutants.
“Corro-Coat PE-SDF, which has been extensively tested in Florida and other sites in the world, satisfies Qualicoat Class II requirements and has demonstrated excellent gloss and colour retention.
“With an assortment of 120 solid RAL colours and a wide array of pearlescent and metallic finishes, along with a colour-matching service carried out by Jotun Powder Coatings’ local labs, Corro-Coat PE-SDF offers an unmatched freedom of design for architects and consultants, and meets the latest and most sophisticated colour trends in the market.”
Corro-Coat PE-SDF has rapidly gained popularity in the region with a constantly growing portfolio of approved applicators. Through staging themed ‘road-show’ seminars throughout the Middle East, Jotun Powder Coatings is boosting the public awareness of long-term beneficial effects of high-quality finishes for architectural aluminium.
“Among the aluminium contractors, Alumco has always been very conscious of first-grade quality coatings and has selected Corro-Coat PE-SDF in most of its recent projects, namely The Greens, Al Murooj complex andthe six Burj Dubai residence towers,” he comments.
Corro-Coat PE-SDF has also been extensively used on several other projects including the Burj Al Arab, Dubai, Madinat Jumeirah, Airport Free Zone, Al Mankhool, Arabian Ranches, Al Yousef Tower, Al Kharbash Tower (all in Dubai); the Four Seasons Hotel (Qatar); Arab Bank headquarters (Bahrain); the Hilton Hotel Jeddah and Singapore Embassy (Saudi Arabia); the Hilton Hotel (Kuwait); Barr Al Jissah, Oman; Is Bankasi, Istanbul (Turkey); Bangkok International Airport (Thailand) and the UCB’s headquarters in Malaysia, among others.
In line with its policy to expand its interests in the region, Jotun Powder Coatings has set up local manufacturing facilities in the Gulf.
The recently-inaugurated manufacturing facility in Lahore (Pakistan) is the latest addition to its state-of-the-art factories in Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, all producing high-quality thermosetting and fusion-bond epoxy for architectural, functional and general industrial segments.
“Jotun Powder Coatings’ vision to globalise its presence and regionalise its services to fast-growing developing markets, is clearly shown in the recent decision to relocate its headquarters to new offices in Dubai, to offer better support to its 10 manufacturing units spread across three continents, and to streamline its international distribution network to 60 countries in the Europe, Middle East, South East Asia, Australia and the Americas,” Kneider concludes.
