Akar Technical Services Company of the UAE offers landscaping solutions that are tailor-made for the Gulf, having built its expertise over years of experience.

The Dubai-based company, which is located in the Al Quoz industrial area, was established in 1994 and is ISO 9001 certified for its design and installation services.

"Backed by 25 years experience of its parent company, Al Ansari Trading Enterprises of Muscat, Akar has made rapid strides and established itself as a leading player in the design and installation of landscaping, irrigation, swimming pools and fountain works," says Dr B Prabhakar Rao general manager of the company.

He continues: "Its core activities are directed towards creating a beautiful environment for people to live in, through landscaping. Helping us in this endeavour are our vendors, which include prestigious companies such as Astral, Rain Bird, Hepworth, OASE, Ocean Brook and Creative Concrete.

"We are proven leaders with several years of experience in artificial rockwork and in the laying of patterned concrete in the Gulf environment. Continuous research has resulted in the development of in-house expertise that has adapted artificial rock and patterned concrete technology to local conditions."

The company has executed landscape works for several prestigious projects within the UAE. These include the Deira City Centre (rockwork themes), the Metropolitan Beach Club (leisure facilities), the Metropolitan Hotel (the Venezia restaurant's interiors), Dubai Internet City (site enhancement works), Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's Jumeirah palace, and the Children's City, all in Dubai; the Riyadh Palace at Ghantoot, Sheikh Sultan's palace in Abu Dhabi; and the Dreamland water park in Umm Al Quwain.

"Akar has a well-established design department, which uses state-of-the-art technology to provide detailed designs at short notice, and this supports our sales and marketing efforts as well as project execution," he says.

The company has a total staff of 150 professionals, whose qualifications range from doctorates in horticulture to graduates in engineering, architecture and business administration.
