Swedish pump maker Grindex AB has introduced a new addition to its high-performance Tuff line of pumps.
The Tuff Solo sludge pump has been specially developed and sized to meet the need for a small, yet highly efficient and reliable sludge pump, the company says.
The Tuff Solo builds on the success of the Tuff line which was launched three years ago with Tuff One, the first in a new line of pumps developed for those applications where high performance, durability and lightweight were required.
Although it weighs only 15 kg, the Tuff Solo has the capacity to handle sand, gravel and sludge particles up to 40 mm in diameter at a rate of 480 litres per minute. It is the only pump of its size, says Grindex.
Sludge pumps, by the nature of the product they are handling, are prone to excessive wear. The Tuff Solo is built to withstand such harsh conditions. The pump housing and impeller are made of wear-resistant high-density polyurethane and the stainless steel casing is corrugated to enable it to withstand abuse and corrosion.
"We called them Tuff because we built them tough for tough handling and tough conditions. Not only have they performed in excess of our expectations, the acceptance in the market has been exceptional," says Grindex president Goran Holmen.
Grindex AB is a leading manufacturer of submersible pumps for construction, mining, tunneling, rescue work and other challenging applications where high-performance and reliability are essential requirements.
All Grindex pumps are manufactured in Sweden to ISO 9001 certification and ISO 14001 environmental requirements. Regional offices and an extensive dealer network ensure worldwide coverage.
