

The United Industrial Company for Paints (UIC) will be showcasing its range of products at the forthcoming Saudi Building and Interiors Exhibition (SBIE) in Jeddah.
One of the oldest paints manufacturer in the Kingdom, UIC will be promoting its UIC and Dolphin brands of products at the show, says marketing and export manager Abdul Afou Tamim.
He says that in the decorative paints sector, UIC will be highlighting its special techniques and effects products such as Diamond Glaze.
It will also introduce its range of low odour and one-coat solvent-free emulsion paints as part of the company's efforts to provide eco-friendly products to the market, he says.
For the industrial coatings market, the company will be introducing polyurethane-based 'structure paint' which offers both protection and good appearance for surfaces, plus other products such as 'hammer finish' and 'cracking paint'.
UIC, a 100 per cent Saudi-owned company, was set up in 1969 in Jeddah and today serves its customers in the kingdom through its 40 retail outlets in 22 cities.
Its factory and research and development facilities are located in Jeddah Industrial Area, Zone 1, and it has regional offices in both Riyadh and Dammam.
UIC produces a wide range of paint products for the decorative, industrial, wood and metal finishes.
The product range consists of primers and sealers; putties and fillers; emulsions; alkyd and synthetic enamels; baking enamels; textures; roof coatings; epoxies, protective coatings for steel and floor; polyurethane coatings; nitrocellulose and acid curing wood finishes; varnishes and lacquers and thinners.
Tamim says UIC products conform to both national (Saso) and American standards. The company is ISO 9001:1994 certified and is in the process of obtaining ISO 9001:2000 certification.
