Saudi steel fabricator Al Bayda Steel is now a stronger force in the market, with an ISO certificate under its belt.

The Riyadh-based firm, which fabricates doors, profiles and structures, was awarded the ISO 9001:2000 quality assurance certification in July, says plant manager M K Abdul Gafoor.

"Al Bayda Steel has been actively supporting the construction and industrial sectors in the Kingdom and other Gulf states over the last two decades with high-quality products," he says. "As a leader in the manufacture of hollow metal doors and various steel profiles, Al Bayda Steel has contributed to the development of the region and the company has a clean track record of keeping its customers satisfied.

"Al Bayda Steel produces hollow metal doors for commercial, industrial and institutional buildings. It has a rollforming section producing various steel profiles for construction applications as well as a special steel fabrication section."

Al Bayda Steel has experienced and dedicated staff running all its operations, from design and production to marketing and sales and general administration. Its production facility is situated in the Second Industrial Area of Riyadh and has an area of 8,000 sq m.

The company's range of hollow metal doors are manufactured to various international standards such as ASTM, BS, NFPA and SDI, and they have been used in government and educational buildings as well as hospitals, says Gafoor.

Al Bayda Steel has a well-equipped production facility capable of undertaking medium to large projects.

The rollforming section produces various steel profiles such as the framework for dry wall partitions (studs and runners), sections for gypsum ceiling work (furring channels, C-channels and angles), T-grid sections for suspended acoustic ceiling systems and other standard profiles; all made out of high-grade galvanised steel coils.

Its expanded metal lath products are widely accepted in the local and Gulf markets. "This range of products consists of metal lath sheets, coil laths and angle beads, produced to customer specifications," he says.

Its special fabrication division is capable of handling major fabrication and installation works to customer requirements. "Over the years, we have executed several projects involving the fabrication and erection of various large steel structures and tanks at several facilities," Gafoor says. "This division is also capable of designing and manufacturing steel ornamental doors and handrails."
