AWAL Refrigeration and Air Conditioning will be making its maiden appearance at gulfBID this year with a wide range of products that it has lined up especially for the event.

The Bahrain-based company will be introducing its commercial central air-conditioning products including package and DX split units and chilled water, says its sales manager Paul Dias.

The company also intends to promote modular panels, garbage/linen chutes, stainless steel handrails, coils/condensers, water coolers, stainless steel toilets, floor grates, refrigerated cabinets, and a range of stainless steel products including commercial refrigerators, base cabinets, wall cabinets, work tables, sink units, commercial cooking ranges, and exhaust hoods.

Awal is engaged in a diverse range of activities grouped under different divisions. It has an electromechanical contracting division for HVAC (heating ventilation and air-conditioning) and fire-fighting; as well as various divisions specialising in the manufacture of water coolers and refrigeration equipment, commercial kitchen equipment, cold rooms, garbage and linen chutes, building material like lintels and wheel barrows, water heaters and commercial air-conditioning units.

In addition, Awal markets and distributes renowned commercial kitchen and laundry brands.

Commenting on business over the past year, Dias says that despite the current global financial crisis, Awal has managed to secure prestigious projects on the island such as the Renaissance hotel at Amwaj Islands and Four Seasons hotel at Bahrain Bay.”

For the Renaissance hotel, it has supplied kitchen equipment, handrails and stainless steel fabrication works. Meanwhile, for the Four Seasons, Awal has been contracted to supply linen chute systems.

Other projects supplied to in the Gulf include the Radisson SAS Dubai and Abu Dhabi (kitchen equipment); and the Organic Food and Café in Seef Mall, Bahrain.

The company has plans to further boost its range, and according to Dias, its design team is currently working on developing higher capacity commercial central air-conditioning systems.

Established in 1963, Awal Refrigeration and Air Conditioning has its head office in Hoora, and a factory covering an area of 100,000 sq ft in North Sitra Industrial Area.
