Officials and dignitaries at last year’s exhibition.

MORE than 50 per cent of the exhibition space has already been sold and 20 per cent reserved for Tower Tech 2011, the fourth in the series of international exhibitions for tower-building technologies, to be held at the Doha Exhibition Centre in Doha, Qatar, from November 22 to 25 this year.

Economic Group, the organiser, expects 180 exhibitors to participate at the event which is being held over an area of 7,500 sq m in addition to 5,000 sq m outside the exhibition centre.

“Tower Tech 2011 is not just an exhibition, it is a forum to inspire and develop the tower building technologies sector in the Middle East and the Gulf region, where exhibitors are expected to sign major contracts out of consistent and reliable marketplace opportunities,” said Economic Group chairman Abdul Rehman Jassim Al Sulaiti.

Al Sulaiti ... major deals on the cards.

“Tower Tech 2011 has been enormously promoted by a campaign which has helped build the show into a ‘tower-building business forum for the GCC’ – in other words making it the ultimate meeting place for on-site contracting decisions where a wide range of choices and prices are available,” he added.

The event will include a series of seminars with Jan Klerk from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) of Chicago, US, set be a guest speaker.

Other key events during the show include various workshops that will focus on the practical aspects of tall building development and construction in Qatar and the Middle East.

Last year’s Tower Tech forum, which was held between September 20 and 23, attracted a total of 4,551 visitors including 4,006 local trade visitors and 545 foreign visitors from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Jordan, Bahrain, Lebanon, Kuwait and Egypt.

Most of the exhibitors participated in the show to benefit from the increased exposure the event offered, with a majority of them using Tower Tech as a launch-pad for their new products. About 94 per cent of the exhibitors said the show met their expectations in terms of publicity and business deals, according to the organiser.

Economic Group has other events this year including Anta Fe Misr, a real-estate exhibition in Egypt, in addition to exhibitions to be held in Qatar and Egypt next year.

The group is also planning a number of new exhibitions that will create networking forums for companies in Qatar and the GCC to meet and exchange ideas, while providing them with an opportunity to negotiate and broker contracts for their future growth and expansion.

In addition, Economic Group has various facilities management services and professional training courses for the oil and gas sector.
