TIGER Profiles has begun supply of its floor deck profiles to Qatar World Trade Centre in Doha, an iconic 50-storey structure with a unique architectural form.

As much as 60,000 sq m of TR 75/300 deck profile will be used to construct the tower which comprises 42 levels of office space, an exclusive business club, a podium of four floors for conferences, four basements for  car-parks and services and a spherical multi-purpose auditorium.

The easily and quickly constructible steel floor decks supplied by Tiger Profiles that will be used in composite slabs, offer an immediate and safe working platform that reduces up to 30 per cent of the normally required usage of concrete material while acting as a permanent formwork and slab as reinforcements in composite desks, says a spokesman for the company.

“As the deck provides the positive reinforcing for the slab, conventional wood forming is replaced and temporary shoring can be eliminated, he says.

The main components of the complex, which has a built-up area of approximately 142,000 sq m, include a spherical building that features an auditorium with a capacity of 523 fixed-seats, a 1,775-sq-m multi-purpose hall for conferences and exhibitions, and five floors of executive offices.

A defining feature at the topmost level is a circular business club that will provide the highest level of luxury, service and breathtaking views of the city of Doha. The tower also offers four storeys of car-park space for up to 1,169 cars.

Tiger Profiles deck profiles have been used in a range of prestigious projects including the Burj Khalifa development, Emirates Aluminium Company (EMAL), and the new flyover in Al Wahda Street in Sharjah.

Meanwhile, in order to enhance the visibility of some of its leading products, Tiger Profiles & Insulation participated along with its sister company Nimr Steel at the Arabian Construction Week Show in Abu Dhabi last month.
