
DPG completes Ghoroob project
DUBAI Properties Group (DPG), a member of Dubai Holding, has announced the successful completion of Ghoroob, an affordable residential development, in the heart of Mirdif in Dubai.
The 3.3-million-sq-ft holistic community, the only upscale apartment complex in Mirdif, will feature a mix of studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments ranging from 956 sq ft to 1,861 sq ft.
A fully furnished model apartment has been designed to allow potential customers to view the layout, fixtures and fit-outs utilised throughout the community. The apartment will be opened for viewing upon the commencement of leasing.
The development’s location in the heart of Mirdif with easy access to schools and shopping centres including the Mirdif City Centre Mall, positions Ghoroob Mirdif as an ideal residence for mid-income families.

Remraam marks milestones
DUBAI Properties Group (DPG) has announced that the Remraam residential community in the heart of Dubailand has reached key construction milestones with 40 buildings having reached full height.
All the foundation work has been complete with approximately 77 per cent of superstructure and 72 per cent of the infrastructure works in place. The installation of wall and floor ceramics, metal works, doors and windows has been completed for several buildings. More than 20 per cent of the internal and external paint works are complete while the external decorative concrete and metal works on the buildings’ facades are 50 per cent finished. The set-up of a 132-kV electrical substation is also in progress.
MAF Dalkia to maintain mosques
MAF Dalkia has signed a contract with Musanada, the facilities management and shared services arm of the Abu Dhabi government, for maintenance of 412 mosques in Abu Dhabi and the Baniyas region. The contract, which will run for a period of three years, is the first of its kind to be awarded by the government and will extend to several areas covering air-conditioning, plumbing and electro-mechanical maintenance.

Sweet Homes project on target
LEADING UAE developer Sweet Homes Holdings has announced its plans to deliver the first phase of its residential villa projects within the Dh2.2 billion ($599.4 million) Ajman Uptown community development by August next year.
The master developer further revealed that it is expecting to hand over a total of 555 units to customers who are paying on time, according to the construction-linked payment plan for the project.
At present, two important sub-contracts for the 1,504 villas have already been awarded by Sweet Homes General Contracting (SHGC), the in-house contracting arm of Sweet Homes Group and the main contractor for the Ajman Uptown project. This includes the MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing), air-conditioning and fire-fighting sub-contract, which was given to Al Ibhar Electrical Contracting and Elegant Electromechanical Contracting, and the civil sub-contract to Liwa Building Contracting.
TDIC completes Louvre piling work
ABU Dhabi’s Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) said it has completed piling work on its flagship project Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island. The UAE branch of the French art gallery is on schedule for completion in 2013, TDIC said.
The next milestone will be the development of the substructure beginning in the last quarter of this year, along with the main contracts works. Germany’s Bauer International has been working since March this year to place 4,536 pilings, totalling nearly 100 km. The completion of piling works coincides with the commencement of piling works for the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, also part of the Saadiyat Island Cultural District. The placement of the 1,400 piles for Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will be carried out by Al Habtoor/HSSG and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of next year.
Imdaad to manage Burj waste
IMDAAD has signed a three-year contract with Emaar Properties to undertake waste management and recycling for the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Under this agreement, the UAE company will collect and dispose municipal solid waste and collect all recyclable material generated from all areas within the world’s tallest building on a daily basis. Imdaad, in conjunction with Burj Khalifa’s management, will also develop and operate an environment management system.
