Abu Dhabi Investment Council’s project has been designed to deliver two 25-storey landmark towers specific to the clients’ needs that will accommodate the offices of the new investment council as well as the headquarters for the Al Hilal Islamic bank.
Linked via a podium, the towers, which comprise a floor area of 100,075 sq m, will accommodate approximately 2,100 occupants.
The towers occupy neighboring plots on adjacent sites situated close to Al Qurum beach in the eastern district of Abu Dhabi.
Fundamental to the design concept is the application of a diaphanous screen in the form of a dynamic ‘mashribiya.’ This design has been tailored to reflect the solar path at the precise location of the site, thereby rendering it unique to its location.
In order to further reduce the potential for solar gain, the form has been sculpted to provide sky gardens in what would otherwise have become the most sensitive areas of the building.
The sky gardens also provide visual relief for users of the building and an important amenity space for staff during the cooler months of the year.
The towers will provide state-of-the-art office space and meeting rooms, executive and VIP office suites, catering facilities, gymnasia and prayer rooms, IT and data centres, a 200-seat auditorium and parking for 800 cars.
