The Grand Canal Abu Dhabi, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, will be the latest jewel in the crown of Abu Dhabi National Hotel’s (ADNH) portfolio.

Mace has project managed the development from its inception. The 532-room hotel is themed on an Italian style reminiscent of the Grand Canal in Venice. It contains 395 luxury hotel rooms and suites within the main hotel that overlook the pool and beach plus a further 52 rooms within what is to known as the Venetian Village.
The Venetian Village zone is designed to be a vibrant mix of piazzas containing food and beverage and retail outlets for a real Italian outdoor experience. The development also contains a further 85 luxury hotel villas that will provide the option of more privacy.
The hotel will offer a large variety of restaurants and eateries along its promenade level all of which offer spectacular views across the huge leisure pool to the beach and some towards the Grand Mosque.
Mace is providing full project management plus services to ADNH, which means its team of project managers is working closely with the main contractor Al Habtoor to provide construction management expertise to the delivery process in a team-orientated environment.
“The recent introduction of Ritz Carlton to the development is tremendously exciting for the team and has thrown up some interesting challenges to overcome,” says Mace project director Julian Munday. “The hotel is destined to become one of Abu Dhabi’s premier hospitality offerings and Mace is proud to be working with some of the most reputable names in the hotel industry.”
The project is planned for completion during 2011.
