Following the recent establishment of a branch of the Institute of Quarrying in the Middle East, CDE Global will be hosting a third technical evening which takes place this month (February 16) in Fujairah, UAE.

The Northern Ireland-based manufacturer of washing equipment for quarrying, mining and recycling, which has a long association with the Institute of Quarrying in the UK, has been established in the Middle East market for five years now and has two offices. The company’s regional headquarters is located in Doha, Qatar, with a further branch office in Dubai, UAE.

The development of water-efficient washing systems for the Middle East is an area where CDE has considerable experience, having delivered two 1,200-tonne-per-hour sand washing plants in Qatar. These two plants include full, closed-circuit water, recycling systems ensuring that more than 95 per cent of the water used in the washing process is recycled, which has a huge impact on the volume of water required to feed the washing plants.

“Without the introduction of our AquaCycle thickeners and GHT filter press systems the two plants in Qatar are simply non-starters,” explained Steve Williams, CDE sales manager for the region.

“We will be highlighting these projects at the Fujairah event and will also present extensive information on how the same methodologies can be applied to smaller scale operations to allow for the production of the highest quality materials while minimising water consumption.”

Since the completion of these two major washing plants in Qatar, CDE has realised significant developments in its product range to cope with the specific requirements of the Middle East market and these will also be covered extensively at the Institute of Quarrying event in Fujairah.

“Adapting our range to the unique requirements of the Middle East market has been central to the success we have enjoyed” said Williams.
