LG Electronics, a leading innovator of air-conditioners, and its sole distributor in Saudi Arabia H G Ibrahim Shaker have announced the launch of its new line of chillers, which are targeted at central air-conditioning facilities of large spaces in the regional market.

The all-new energy-efficient air-cooled screw chillers with applications in industrial processes as well as ice/thermal storage facilities are designed to operate under high ambient temperatures. They also have anti-corrosive features to ensure their durability under the harsh environmental conditions of the region, where chances of corrosion are high, according to S H Lee, applied product sales and marketing manager at LG.
The LG RCAW series – available in two models, the high-efficiency 50 to 400 ton and the compact 40 to 540 ton units – offers high performance and reliability for the industrial and commercial markets. The new range of chillers further builds on the LG’s world-famous air-conditioning manufacturing expertise, he says.
“We have decades of experience in providing expert cooling solutions and we owe it to our customers to provide them with energy-efficient cooling. The launch of the screw chillers is a major step in that direction. We remain committed to maximising energy savings for customers,” says Lee.
The screw-chillers come with low noise and low-vibration features, with advanced microcomputer controls. Their full-dot LCD offers rich human-machine interface and the semi-hermetic twin-rotor screw compressor results in high reliability, he says.
“While the high-efficiency screw chiller offers world-class efficiency with ARI (Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute) standards and an optimised compressor design, the compact design ensures a smaller and lighter model compared to those of other major chiller manufacturers catering to restrictions of space,” he adds.

Screw chillers are considered reliable in view of the lower number of moving parts. The new range will go a long way in energy efficiency and boost cycle optimisations, especially for customers with varying load applications such as multiplexes, malls, offices, hospitals and hotels, says Lee.
