Geipel Decken-und Profilsysteme, one of Europe's largest manufacturers of suspended metal ceilings, says the Al Gurg Tower is a striking addition to its list of international project references.

The company, which is based in Germany, manufactures a wide range of aluminium ceilings, aluminium strip ceilings of different widths and band rasters systems.

Geipel's UAE agent is the Dubai-based with Al Semsam Building Materials, which is part of the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group. ''Al Semsam was appointed in early 2001 to promote our quality products and services in the UAE,'' says a Geipel spokesman.

He continues: ''Geipel is proud of being a supplier to the Al Gurg Tower, one of the most attractive high-rises in Dubai, designed by one of the leading architectural firms - Norr Group International.''

For the tower, Geipel supplied a large quantity of 60 by 60 cm tegular lay-in tiles on special threaded grids and special ceilings similar to its popular Micro cropper M-ceilings.

Launched three decades ago, Geipel Decken-und Profilsysteme today exports to more than 20 countries around the world. Headed by Udo Geipel, the company operates from a 60,000 sq m purpose-built factory which is equipped with up-to-date computer-controlled machinery and the latest conveying and handling equipment.

Modern technology, coupled with the expertise of its 150 professionals, enables Geipel to respond swiftly to the most challenging requirements of the international market, providing tailor-made solutions at competitive prices. It can offer metal ceiling tiles and planks in various sizes, perforations, patterns and colours.

Geipel recently boosted its line of products with a patented designer line of expanded metal ceilings. In addition, it has developed ceiling systems which are said to offer very high acoustic performance and are aesthetically-pleasing. It also produces perforated gypsum planks for various applications.

Besides offering an extensive choice of ceilings, another advantage of dealing with Geipel is that it offers complete accessories and components fully produced in its factory for easy and maintenance-free installations, the spokesman says.

''All products are manufactured to quality regulations of ceilings and strictly in accordance to German DIN standard and the German TIAM standards with which Geipel is a registered member,'' he points out.

He continues: ''Due to its guaranteed quality, Geipel has a long list of reputed international references. Most quality-conscious buildings, banks, offices, government buildings, hospitals, airports, hotels, shopping malls and schools prefer Geipel ceilings.''

Geipel was recently pre-selected to supply a large quantity of special-size metal tiles for the Commercial Bank of Dubai headquarters project in Dubai, through Al Semsam. Other major local orders include the supply of expanded mesh tiles for renovations at the Deira City Centre, and clip-in tiles for the Al Ittihad schools in Dubai.

The company is a regular participant in major international events such as Batimat in Paris, France and Bau in Munich, Germany.
