Saudi Arabia-based Mohammed Saad Aldrees Steel Doors and Frames Factory, a leading manufacturer of steel doors, frames and hardware, has recently boosted its doors portfolio with the addition of highly sophisticated bullet-resistant doors.
The bullet-resistant or full-flush doors are designed to provide a high level of protection from bullets for applications such as banks, lockers, government buildings, embassies and other high-security buildings. They have interlocked and hairline seams that are welded on the inside vertical edges along the full height of the doors.
"These welds are ground, filled and dressed smooth so that the seams are not visible. The face sheets are totally supported by vertical stiffeners on special armour plates to provide protection from bullets, of .30 to .60-calibre, in accordance with UL752 level 4. This series is supplied complete with a set of frames and hardware. The top and bottom edges of the door are closed by 2 mm steel channels that are flush and welded in place," says Hasan Taha, marketing manager.
The company, which previously operated as the AICS division of Mohammed Saad Aldrees and Sons Company, started out in 1978 as a major importer of finishing materials from the US, supplying superior-quality hollow metal doors and frames from brands such as Fenestra and Ceco doors to several prestigious projects throughout Saudi Arabia.
