The British Contract Furnishing Association (BCFA) will put the spotlight on the high quality of manufacture and design that its member companies offer at Stand 1C22 at the gulfBID.
BCFA, a leading trade association of its kind in the UK, promotes the general interests of the contract furnishing industry while encouraging companies to innovate and design.
BCFA’s aim is to bring together manufacturers and contract furnishers and to inform the architect, specifier and interior designer of the wide range of products and services available.
“It is our intention to encourage the highest possible standards of service, quality of manufacture and design. To increase business and enhance the reputations of member companies both at home and abroad through networking, publications and exhibitions and provide solutions in the field of contract furnishing,” says a spokesman for the company.
Its mission is to promote the interests of persons and companies from the UK, which are engaged in the manufacture or supply of contract furnishings and associated activities.
“Innovation and product design is essential for UK businesses to remain competitive in world markets. I know that the BCFA accreditation scheme acknowledges companies that have this ethos as a core to their success,” says BCFA chairman Tony Attard.
Nine companies from diverse sectors of the contract furnishing market were singled out for recent endorsement in the BCFA Product Approval Awards.
The judging panel was asked to identify particularly outstanding examples of design from entries submitted by BCFA members: all entries addressed issues of innovation, uniqueness, commercial reality, sustainability and compliance with British Standards. The winning products are now entitled to carry BCFA-Approved tags, and will be showcased at all BCFA-sponsored exhibitions.
The recipients were Blind Fashion for the Sivoia QED motorised roller blind system, Altima Lighting for the Selva safety device, Fabbrica SedieFriuli Fornasarig for Georges Karam’s Georgee II chair, Bisley Office Equipment for InnerSpace mobile shelving, Craig Jones for the ZipIT cable management system, Integradesk for the Thinkspace 1200 workspace solution, Colebrook Bosson Saunders for the Lapjack laptop support, ABF Europe for its Kite Tabling system, and Dauphin HumanDesign Company for the TakeOver Chair.
