Domo widens colour spectrum

The colour sample books.

Belgium-based flooring specialist Domo Contract Flooring has launched a new set of colour samples which it says will seek to fulfill the needs of its broad spectrum of customers every time.

“The atmosphere of a room is determined to a great extent by its colour and this is where floors can often play a crucial role,” says a company spokesman. “It can make a room appear larger or smaller, create a friendly or businesslike mood, call attention to itself or go all but unnoticed. So it is only logical that a customer’s attention first and foremost goes to colour and only then to product and quality characteristics.
“On the basis of this reasoning, Domo Contract Flooring has launched Color Concept which comprises a set of five colour sample books,” he adds.
“The colour of the floor must harmonise with the ceiling, the walls and the furnishings. With an interplay of colours, you create rooms that are post-modern, classic, high-tech or ultra clean. This is why Domo Contract Flooring developed Color Concept: product presentation according to color.”
He continues: “With Color Concept, Domo Contract Flooring wishes to respond to the wishes of architects, designers, facility managers and flooring contractors. The five colour sample books are proof that Domo Contract Flooring wishes to follow the thought pattern of its partners and support them in their decision-making process. And because installers and users also have their own thought patterns, new concepts will be developed in the future.
Domo is a leading manufacturer of trendsetting and contemporary floor coverings and places a high premium on its superlative quality products, its sense of innovation, its customer service and its respect for the social as well as the natural environment. It is a member of GuT (organization of environmentally friendly floor coverings).
“All its carpets display a GuT number, a guarantee for the consumer that environmentally –friendly products are sold with the guaranteed absence of any health risks,” he says. “But for Domo Contract Flooring, the GuT label is not the end.  New technologies are constantly being developed to improve the quality of indoor air. It is striving to provide added value in the realm of environment and health along with other qualities – one of them being a revolutionary solution to tackle indoor pollution: Tion
“Tion consists of tiny particles of titanium dioxide crystals that can be mixed perfectly with other compounds.  When they come in contact with ultraviolet light, they convert the harmful substances in a natural way into harmless water vapour and carbon dioxide. The result? Clean air at every moment of the day.
“Domo Contract Flooring is carrying out experiments with regard to processing Tion in carpets. Carpets treated with Tion could make an active contribution to a healthy indoor climate.  Thanks to Tion, not only can carpeting be classified as a highly hygienic floor covering, but also as floor covering with a healing effect,”  he adds.
“The name Domo brings to mind the art of broadloom carpeting. However, this is a company with a great deal more to offer in the area of floor coverings. The company also manufactures a wide range of tufted broadloom and needle felt carpets, vinyl, carpet tiles, mats and runners,” says the spokesman.
As a leading carpet manufacturer, Domo Contract Flooring has always maintained a strategy of product orientation and focused on technical production factors. As market-oriented company, Domo Contract Flooring continues to guarantee client satisfaction in the realm of technical product features. It offers customers a spectrum of solutions in four main market segments: offices, public, hospitality and retail.
Through giving particular attention to the quality of the product, Domo has ensured that its entire collection bears the Domo quality certificate, which is ample proof that the products fulfill the European standard EN 1307, the spokesman says.
“But carpets are more than quality products that fulfil a series of technical requirements. Today, carpets are regarded more than ever just a contemporary floor covering: colourful, practical, and versatile in terms of use. They need to be soft, sound-insulating, hygienic, low-maintenance and mood-creating,” he adds.
Established in 1992 after the integration of the floor covering companies Eurantex, Domo Sint-Niklaas and Fabelta, Domo has largely succeeded in growing into an international group through its strategy of vertical integration of raw materials and the development of its core activities. The company is currently active in three branches:
• Chemicals and polymers;
• Fibres and yarns; and
• Floor coverings.
“In each of these branches, Domo is striving for an organic growth using strong innovation, both in products, markets and internal processes,” says the spokesman.
“Domo’s mission is to work on customer satisfaction and profitable growth of our company every single day, making use of strongly integrated activities, with its dynamic team of employees, characterised by efficiency, qualitative and innovative acting,” he concludes.
