Work on Dh1 billion ($272.5 million) Al Hamra Village – an exclusive resort that aims to provide a luxurious and relaxing environment along Ras Al Khaimah’s coast – is 20 per cent complete, according to its developer.
The project will be one of the largest single “by-the-sea” residential developments, says Dr Khater Massaad, CEO of Al Hamra Real Estate Development.
“It will offer luxury properties including upmarket villas, townhouses, and apartments,” he says. “These will be offered with freehold ownership and a resident visa sponsorship option for the customer, if required. The project will also comprise necessary and entertaining facilities: a commercial street, five and six-star hotels, a marina and yachting club, clubhouse, restaurants, swimming pool and an 18-hole golf course designed by world-renowned Peter Harradine.”
The golf course, of which nine holes will be ready by mid-2005, encircles the entire perimeter of a man-made lagoon. It will include state-of-the-art greens and tees, ensuring a fair test of golfing skills for both amateurs and professionals.
Investors can take their pick from a selection of over 1,300 freehold units including luxury villas, elegant duplexes, deluxe town houses and premium apartments set amidst a man-made lagoon.
Scheduled for completion in 2006, Al Hamra Village aims offer its residents world-class facilities and excellent telecommunication networks to remain connected with the outside world.
A focal point of the development is the already-established five-star Al Hamra Fort Hotel, which boasts year-round European clientele. This will be complemented by two additional five-star properties, all due for completion in 2006.
The project will feature a distinctive architectural style in keeping with the culture of the region. Each residential unit will have utmost privacy.
The 1,200 residential units will be built in the first phase of the project. This will be followed by other phases, which – apart from more residential units – will include other tourism and entertainment developments.
