Hansgrohe’s high-end brand Axor – a market leader in innovative bathroom solutions – will organise the AquaTektur exhibition on the occasion of the ninth International Architecture Biennale in Venice, Italy.
Titled “Architecture and Water. Water houses – houses beside, around, in and on water”, the event will feature drawings and designs produced by renowned international architects in AquaTektur workshops in Cuba, until October-end, at the Sala San Tommaso, Basilica SS Giovanni e Paolo, says a spokesman.
Says a company spokesman: “The results from the workshop reflect not only the most diverse professional views of the current and future use of water in buildings, but also the changing relationship of contemporary societies to water.”
This will be the third time that Axor has invited architects from renowned studios all over the world to discuss the subject of water and architecture.
Hitherto the “Avana de Cuba” was the impressive setting for the AquaTektur initiative – and the choice of location was not a coincidence.
“After all, Havanna – like Venice – is a city that was shaped by water and yet has to treat it with the greatest care. Furthermore, building technology and bathroom design in the Cuban capital have so far remained largely uninfluenced by western standards making it ideal for Axor to re-think the bathroom.”
Since 1901, the Hansgrohe name has been synonymous with excellence in the shower, kitchen and bath. Emerging as a leading European supplier with Hans Grohe’s original workshop in Germany's Black Forest, today, Hansgrohe operates nine manufacturing and design centers and 20 major offices worldwide to serve customers in over 70 countries.
