Black & Veatch (BV) Corporation – a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company specialising in infrastructure development in the fields of energy, water and information – has completed almost one quarter of the $143.44 million Ajman sewerage project in the UAE, since it signed the contract a year ago.

In the first-ever private finance deal for wastewater services in the Middle East that takes responsibility for the retail risk, BV has completed the installation of 31 km of pipes out of the proposed 230 km network.
Approximately 70 per cent of civil construction works at the plant and the two main pumping stations have also been completed.
The wastewater network, which will result in immense health and environmental benefits to the emirate, sees the combination of the expertise of BV Consulting and BV Contracting.
The project involves the setting up of a 49,000 cu m per day wastewater treatment plant at Al Jurf, once fully operational within the next 18 months will bring modern sanitation facilities to more than 350,000 people in 45,000 properties.
The main treatment plant is designed to receive wastewater from 22 pumping stations in the city.
