New consultant for Durrat

A new consultant has been appointed to help steer the development of the $1 billion (BD378 million) Durrat Al Bahrain city resort.

Chartered quantity surveyor HAJ (Hisham Abdulrahman Jaffer) Consultancy will be responsible for the study of the overall cost and estimate preparation for the project.
Durrat Al Bahrain, a 20 sq km stretch of reclaimed desert and sea, will be one-third larger than downtown Manama.
The resort will comprise 13 different islands, with about 2,000 villas, 2,000 apartments, luxury hotels, restaurants, promenades, shopping centres, marina, spas, sport facilities, and an 18-hole golf course
HAJ played a key role in the construction of the BD57 million ($151 million) Bahrain International Circuit for the MIddle East’s first ever Formula One Grand Prix, which was held this month.
As the client’s representative, Haj visited the consultant’s facilities, inspected few circuits and provided an indicative cost plan for the initial scheme.
Haj handled all the post contract quantity surveying services and also managed the entire fitting out works.
Haj has been accredited as a ‘Class A’ quantity surveying firm by the Committee for Organising Engineering Professional Practice (COEPP) in Bahrain.
