The Training College Consortium (TCC), comprising UK’s Serco Group and Oman’s Bahwan Engineering Group, has been selected the preferred bidder for the planned Joint Technical College, Oman (JTC Oman).
The RO538.3 million ($1.4 billion) project is a 30-year private finance initiative (PFI) offering a design, build and operate contract. The signing of the contract is expected in three to four months.
It will take approximately two years, from financial closure, for Phase 1 of the construction work to complete and, when fully ready in about three years time, the college will accommodate up to 2,000 residential students, both military and civilian.
