Lintec, the Germany-based mixing plant manufacturer, has over the past eight years, produced containerised mixing plants, which have been in great demand in the Middle East. A number of companies in the UAE are already using the mixing plants for high-value projects.

“It is interesting to know companies such as the Middle-East Readymix Abu Dhabi, Unimix, QBC, UEM are using Lintec plants today,” says Sherif Othman, operations manager of Gargash and Gargash, Lintec’s partner in the Middle East.
Apart from these companies, Lintec’s plant is also being used by several companies worldwide, including Walter-Heilit, Eurovia, Teerbau, he adds.
Says Othman: “Lintec mixing plants have found their way throughout the world. The company is the only manufacturer worldwide that produces its asphalt and concrete mixing plants in 100 per cent ISO sea container dimensions. The containers are a combination of easy-transport units and the “in housing” of a plant.
“With this concept, Lintec is not only targeting users of stationary plants, but also companies that are interested in a quick and cost-saving relocation of plant from one project to the next,” he says.
All components of the plants – the mixer, burner (for asphalt plants), and the electrical cabinets – are already pre-installed into the containers when they leave the factory. Before shipment, each plant is pre-erected and a complete test-run and control of all functions of the plant will be executed.
Lintec plants can be erected using a single 100-tonne crane for a maximum of 16 hours, and once the pre-installed pipes and pre-installed cables are connected the plant is ready for fine-tuning.
The asphalt mixing plants come in five sizes, from 90 to 270 tonnes per hour (tph) capacity. The latest development is the CSD 1500 ranging from 90 to 120 tph, which is designed to cater for better repair works and faster road jobs. The new Gussasphalt mixing plant is also based on a similar design as the CSD 1500.
At present, Lintec offers two types of concrete mixing plants, with a capacity from 120 to 240 cu m/h. Its latest product, the CC 2000 (90 cu m/h) will be presented at the bauma construction equipment exhibition, along with Lintec’s other recent innovations. The products on display will include 90 to 120 tph containerised asphalt mixing plant with screen drum technology, and the 90 cu m per h containerised concrete mixing plant, says Othman.
According to him, the advantages of containerised mixing plants include: low transport costs, shorter erection and dismantling time; no concrete foundations, as the large base of the containers provides enough stability for normal compacted site surface; environment friendly, as they generate the lowest noise, dust and heat emissions;  simple and easy design; high-theft protection, as entry is via a single door, which is secured by a safety lock.
The turnover of Lintec has been increasing year on year and this year already 10 plants have been sold and the  target for 2004 is more than 35 plants,” he says.
