Wavin pipe systems from Holland were brought under the spotlight at a recent seminar held in Bahrain.

Wavin's local agent Mohammed Fakhroo & Bros hosted a seminar at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Manama.

Wavin produces pipe systems from various plastics such as polyvinyl choride (PVC), polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and ABS for application in building (soil and waste, hot and cold water, and rainwater management ), utilities (water supply, gas and telecommunications) and sewers.

At the seminar, the company focused on two product groups - hot and cold water systems and low-noise soil systems.

Wavin produces polypropylene, cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) and polybutylene (PB) hot and cold systems.

Wavin AS low-noise soil systems are made of special plastics known as Astolan, which is a polypropylene with reinforced minerals. The best regional reference for the product is the 48-storey Shangri-La hotel in Dubai, the seminar was told. Apart from low noise, Wavin AS offers high chemical resistance, high temperature resistance, a smooth bore and is said to be highly suitable for hotels, hospitals, hi-rises and upmarket homes.
