Top international firms are joining the forthcoming Airport Build & Supply Exhibition and Conference, seeking to take a share of the $10 billion worth of Middle East airport developments.

French heavy engineering firm Alstom and specialist flooring manufacturer Flowcrete are among the international exhibitors that will be in Dubai during June for the expo. Organised by Streamline Marketing, the exhibition is a showcase for airport suppliers from around the world.

The company's stand will feature an Alstom SmartControl demonstration unit that has simulated working examples of the control systems installed on London Gatwick, London Luton, East Midlands and Birmingham airports in the UK.

First-time exhibitor Flowcrete makes resin-based industrial and commercial flooring materials, car-park deck coatings and corrosion protection systems. The company, which opened its office in Dubai three years ago, hopes its debut at the exhibition will find it reliable joint venture partners in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt.

Streamline Marketing director Joanne Evans says each exhibitor would have private meetings with the Dubai Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) project managers, engineers or architects to discuss Dubai International Airport's $4.2 billion expansion.

Held under the patronage of DCA president Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the Airport Build & Supply Exhibition takes place at Airport Expo Dubai from June 2 to 4.
