First impressions last at Boon Edam

Boon Edam's revolving doors can be found in buildings throughout the world.

The main entrance is a building's visiting card, to both visitors and passers-by. The visitors' senses are activated - a mixture of first visual impression and a mental and physical feeling of comfort or discomfort is felt.

Dutch company Boon Edam produced its first revolving door exactly 100 years ago, and first supplied a revolving door to a hotel owner in Paris in 1908. Since then it has supplied revolving doors to buildings throughout the world. "No matter where you are and where you stay, there's every chance you will pass a Boon Edam door, and the company refers to itself as the 'first name in entrance technology'," says a spokesman of the company.

The company says it has been supplying revolving doors to projects in the Middle East, initially to the UAE and then to projects in Kuwait and Lebanon. Several hundred Boon Edam revolving doors are now in the region in hotels, airports, hospitals, shopping malls and office buildings.

The revolving door provides an ideal solution, combining strong aesthetic impression with a number of practical qualities. For example, a revolving door will considerably reduce the ingress of outside street noise, dust, dirt and drafts. The main advantage of a revolving door, aside from its aesthetic values, lies in the energy savings due to draft elimination.

"Today, the same principles apply as those established in 1908: revolving door areas always open and close at the same time, and are therefore ideal energy savers," the spokesman says. "Boon Edam takes pride in preparing for its customers a revolving door energy savings analysis, so they can see first hand how much they will save."

In the Middle East, a network of highly trained exclusive distributors is able to understand the requirements of different markets in the region. With technical back-up from Boon Edam in the Netherlands, local distributors are able to provide a comprehensive service before, during and after installation of the product.

The company, which stands for expertise, innovation, strength and reliability, says it will be introducing further revolutionary developments in the door industry this year, adding that it will continue to work hard to gain the lasting loyalty of its customers.

Through the quality of its manufacturing process, and the selection of materials and design using the latest technology, Boon Edam says it can supply an entrance solution of which both customer and company can be proud.
