German company Efaflex is now meeting demand for an appropriate yet substantial and heat insulating High Speeddoor for loading bays with a recently-developed solution.
The design of the SST-ECO stems from one of the company's best selling models, the High SpeedSpiral Door, according to a company spokesman.
The high speed spiral SST-ECO is produced with thermally-separated insulated slats from double shell aluminium.
"Excellent heat insulation is achieved during the rest phases, the K-factor amounting to at least 1.2 W/sq m K," he explains. "If preferred, several sections can be produced as acrylic double-wall transparent slats to, for example, improve light conditions within the building.
"Should there not be the need for an insulated door panel, an economical, single wall, clear sight or frosted grey selectable slat design is available, in which the slats are connected with horizontal wind and weatherproof rubber sealing. The door panel components are always 225 mm, guaranteeing that the door withstands wind speeds of 145 km/h. If additional security is required, the SST-ECO can be equipped with an additional locking device.
"A long life and low maintenance helical tension spring mechanism is integrated in the narrow side frames with a minimum space requirement, providing for counterbalancing and, in the event of a power failure, a comfortable emergency opening. The operating device is mounted on the frame, so can at any time be operated simply and conveniently without the need for ladders or winders.
"A power-saving, speed-controlled three-phase motor with spur gear drive opens the SST-ECO with a speed of around 0.8 m/sec. Thus, high operating speeds are achieved, particularly when compared to the relatively slowconventional sectional doors."
A microprocessor controller with a frequency converter is integrated within one of the side frames, and an ergonomically-located control panel is preinstalled ready for connection. Among the production supply package is a main switch with an emergency stop function, and an 'Open-Stop-Close' in the operating panel together with a diagnostic display. Likewise, basic equipment includes an opto-electronic closing safety device integrated within the closing profile. Remote-controlled automatic closing is therefore available in combination with all conceivable types of sensor. Efaflex doors currently exceed all applicable European standards, he says.
Efaflex engineers have placed particular emphasis on easy handling, the highest reliability and versatile installation. The door panel is guided clear above the opening into a patented, modified spiral and is accommodated there in a space-saving manner. Various constructions in differing versions can be produced at any time to utilise any installation conditions, he adds.
