Geberit says that it is in its element when it comes to plumbing and drainage needs, with a complete set of solutions from one source, backed by a regional office in the Gulf.

"Over the last 125 years Geberit has become synonymous with high-quality products and services for plumbing and drainage," says a spokesman for the Switzerland-based firm.

The Geberit group includes the brands Geberit, Terrain and Deriplast and offers products for all plumbing and piping requirements. "Deriplast produces HDPE (high-density polyethylene) pressure pipes from 20 to 1,200 mm and up to 25 bar for main water supply networks, fire-fighting and chiller lines. Deriplast pipes are also widely used for gas networks.

"Once the water reaches the building, Geberit's Mepla hot and cold water supply system offers triple benefits for distribution. The three-layer pipe combines the advantages of a plastic pipe with the ones of a metal pipe. The outer HDPE layer gives an ultraviolet (UV) protection and is corrosion resistant while the aluminium is giving the pipe a superior strength and absolute diffusion tightness. The cross-linked polyethylene (PE) inner layer reduces lime scale to an absolute minimum and is again corrosion free.
