Leading construction equipment supplier INMA (Gulf Development and Construction) this year marks three decades of active service to the construction sector.

"Continuously growing over the years, INMA has completed 30 years and is still going strong," says a spokesman for the Dubai-based company.

INMA was established and commenced building a firm presence in the UAE in 1972 - the same year the country's major development activities were also initiated.

Tracing the firm's growth, the spokesman says: "After spending the initial few years obtaining a very sound footing in the local market by providing focused services and support and supplying well-known brands, INMA acquired the Atlas Copco distributorship for the entire product range used in construction/mining and industrial sectors, drilling equipment and tools for the quarry/road sectors, pneumatic hand tools for the industrial and marine sectors - and began actively supplying to these sectors.

"Atlas Copco portable air compressors are a very popular choice amongst the road and building contractors. Powered by Deutz diesel liquid-cooled engines and featuring the Atlas Copco rotary screws, these units supplied by INMA are a common sight at almost all major construction sites," says Sampath Kumar, product manager for Compressed Air Equipment division.

INMA also supplies the Atlas Copco hand-held jack hammers/rock drills, pneumatic accessories, hand-held tools for various applications such as concrete/asphalt breaking, repair works and drilling.

"Contractors are pleased to have the entire system available from one manufacturer and backed by INMA actively. Atlas Copco products, known for their reliable quality, are several times the automatic first choice amongst users since they know they can fully depend on these products and INMA for prompt and dependable back-up.

"In today's tightly scheduled, time-bound projects and construction works, the contractor is always concerned about the back-up he receives - and INMA fully takes care of that need with responsibility," he points out.

Atlas Copco portable compressors are available in the 35-750 litres/sec (75 cfm - 1,590 cfm) range in the standard and medium-pressure versions and the high-pressure versions which can go up to 25 bar (350 psi) with flows up to 950 cfm. All the units can be supplied with a wheeled undercarriage or in skid version, making them very flexible for use at different site conditions.

The engine power is provided from either Deutz (liquid-cooled engines) in the small to medium-range compressors and Caterpillar or Mercedes diesel engines for the larger range of compressors. For special oil-field applications, factory fitted 'refinery equipment' can be supplied for use in restricted areas.

"Whether the units are continuously operating on full load at sea level or up high on the East Coast mountains, in temperatures up to 50 deg C, they fully justify the word 'reliability'," says Kumar.

"Atlas Copco has continuously kept pace with the growing market demands and applications and hence today all its products safely meet environmental standards, noise level restrictions and, most importantly, the users' ever increasing expectations for a totally reliable functioning product in the toughest conditions.

"INMA and Atlas Copco have been close partners in progress and together focus on a dedicated approach to serve the market and meet the needs of the clients, and 30 years presence in the market of which 20 years have been along with Atlas Copco more than proves the point."
