Hilton builds a palace

The Hilton Palace ... coming up in Jeddah.

The Hilton Palace in Jeddah being built by Haif Trading and Contracting, one of the kingdom's leading construction companies, is due for completion in April 2003.

Part of the massive Jeddah Hilton complex and next to the already completed $450 million Jeddah Hilton Hotel, the Hilton Palace will provide the Arab world elite with luxurious apartments and a health spa.

The Jeddah Hilton reflects a vision to create a unique purpose-built hotel complex highlighting the grandeur of its prime location.

Realising this high specification project was extremely challenging and only the very best materials were procured over the construction programme to meet the exacting expectations of its owners, the project managers said.

For example, it was decided that despite its close proximity to the sea, the property should have underground parking. The site was excavated through the sand and coral with special dewatering techniques applied to eventually provide underground parking for 500 cars, a mammoth engineering task in its own right.
