The Water and Sewage Authority of the Eastern Province has awarded a contract for the construction of a water tower on an artificial island to be created alongside the Al Khobar Corniche.
The Saudi Commerce and Economic Review said that a unique feature of the tower was that it would be coupled with a revolving restaurant at the top, making it a major tourist attraction in the province.
The tower-cum-restaurant, to be built at an estimated cost of SR80 million ($21 million), will add to the beauty of the Al Khobar Corniche, which has undergone substantial renovation in recent years.
The tower is expected to be completed in a couple of years.
