Work is well under way on one of the first towers to be built at the upmarket Jumeriah Lake Towers in Dubai.
The 36-storey structure, called the Saba Tower I, is being built by Arabian Construction Company (ACC) for Dubai-based realtor Saba Group.
“The Saba Tower I was conceived as an ultramodern building within a progressive community that is poised for booming growth, offering high-class professionals the opportunity to work from business premises that reflect their business objectives, ambitions, goals and dreams,” says Behrouz Javaheri, chairman of the Dubai-based realtor. “In keeping with this, it incorporates cutting edge architectural and design elements.’’
ACC was chosen as the contractor on the basis of its proven ability and experience in the execution of several complex and demanding real-estate development projects across the UAE and broader Middle East, he adds.
“It is a privilege for us to be closely associated with the development of such a unique and pioneering project,” says ACC general manager Hassan Auji. “We believe that the project will add to our reputation of being partners of a number of landmark projects in the region and in the UAE.”
Following the completion of piling and foundation works ahead of schedule, complete construction mobilisation on the site has been completed. “Full-scale construction has commenced and we expect to adhere to the time-lines that we have committed to our customers,” Javaheri says.
Saba Tower will offer office space ranging from 1,132 sq ft to an entire floor of more than 9,000 sq ft. Amenities include a health club, recreational facilities and conference centre. It is the first in a series of a planned investments amounting to $1.2 billion by Saba Group in the freehold property sector in Dubai. Last November the group had launched the first twin-tower freehold residential complex – the 36-storey Saba Tower 2 and 3 – within the Jumeirah Lake Towers community, being promoted by Nakheel.
ACC has been operating since 1967 through a comprehensive regional network throughout the Middle East. The company’s projects span from power generation and desalination plants to factories, hotels, hospitals, residential and commercial buildings.
The primary consultant for the Saba Tower is the UK-based architectural and design firm RMJM.
