Bone Steel, a leading Scottish structural steel firm, has expanded its operations in the region by launching a new Middle East division in Dubai.
“We are expanding our operations into the overseas market and building a presence in the Middle East, through the development of our export strategies,” says deputy managing director Colin Bone.
Bone Steel Middle East, based in the Emirates Towers, will concentrate on the markets of UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman.
“Although Bone Steel has not worked overseas for almost 15 years, we have got vast experience having worked in some 96 countries worldwide,” says Bone.
Bone Steel recently completed a $5.46 million grandstand for Dubai’s new Autodrome racing circuit, which involved the shipping of 3,000 tonnes of steel from Glasgow earlier this year. Discussions are now taking place for further major projects in the region, following the success of the circuit, which was built to F1 standards, Bone says.
