Dubai-based Ugarit Furniture designed, manufactured and installed all the wardrobes in the 271 villas at Al Warkaa.

Ugarit Furniture is a member of the Hassani Group, which has diversified interests and more than 1,000 employees. The company was established in 1998 to cater to a growing demand for quality furniture. Its factory in Al Barsha industrial area occupies 1,250 sq m of covered area and is equipped with state-of-the-art computerised machinery.

"Our hi-tech machinery enables us to work with fewer operators and thus reduce the chance of human error, which is normally associated with this industry," says general manager Bryan Moody.

He continues: "We manufacture kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, doors, bathroom cabinets and office furniture and have enormous capacity and speed at our disposal, which reduces the time taken to execute any given project. For instance, we can produce more than 15 kitchens, 25 wardrobes and 25 frames/15 doors in a single shift, all ready for assembly on site.

"We also employ an experienced skilled workforce to ensure the smooth execution of projects. Operations are divided into five different departments: work assessment, design, production, quality assurance and sales support. Being part of a larger group, we can draw on the workforce from our sister concerns, whenever necessary."

Ugarit, says Moody, gets its raw materials from established and reliable sources and will never sacrifice quality for short-term gain. Its most commonly used materials are MDF (medium density fibreboard)panels, PVC/MFC/ABS lipping, solid wood and veneer.

The company always holds stock of around 3,000 MDF sheets in popular shades and colours with matching lipping for customers to choose from. It is also able to offer standard sizes and models to European specifications or tailor-make furniture to individual requirements. "We ensure that clients receive the right solution for all their needs and would not take any project if we cannot deliver the right results as per the client's requirements," Moody says.
