Partly-privatised Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC) has awarded a $152 million contract to expand power generation capacity to France's Alstom Power.
''Alstom will supply, install and commission three generating plants which will raise Ras Abu Fontas B power and water complex's capacity by 380 MW to 990 MW,'' said Power and Water Minister, Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah.
