
Madinah Governor Prince Muqrin has commissioned the Al-Ola power plant expansion project that will benefit thousands of people living in the area. The Saudi Electricity Company has so far spent SR60 million ($15 million) on the plant, which has three generating units with a total capacity of 28,000 kW.
This is the fifth expansion of the plant which adds three more generating units with a capacity of 15,000 KW bringing the total capacity of the plant to 28,000 KW, Al-Ola executive president Al-Qadi said.
New appointment at ZIIC
Manama: Dr Abdulrazzak Al-Samdan has been appointed as general manager of the Planning and Business Development Department in Zamil Industrial Investment Company (ZIIC). He was previously projects manager at the P and BD Department of H A Al-Zamil and Brothers Company, at the Al Khobar head office.
Dr Al-Samdan will continue to be secretary to the board of directors of ZIIC and will also remain responsible for the shareholders affairs.
ZIIC is the holding company of the three major industrial manufacturing businesses of the Al Zamil Group: Zamil Steel, Zamil Air Conditioners and Zamil Glass. The AI-Zamil Group owns 60 per cent of ZIIC, while the remaining 40 per cent is held by other Saudi and GCC investors.
Rowad displays PC sheets at SBIE
Riyadh: Rowad National Plastic Company of Riyadh, which claims to manufacture virtually unbreakable polycarbonate (PC) sheets, participated at Saudi Building Industries Exhibition (SBIE) in Jeddah last month. The company promoted its PC sheets for various applications including skylights, painted roof domes and gates. It also held a seminar on October 4 in Jeddah under the patronage of Saudi Umran Society where the majority of the audience were architects and engineering consultants.
