Saudi Arabia has awarded three contracts worth a total of SR765 million ($204 million) to South Korea's Hyundai Engineering and Construction for power projects in the Kingdom.

The projects include the extension of a 132 kV substation, a fuel gas project for two power plants and the construction of overhead transmission lines for the Saudi Electricity Company, said Hyundai's director of overseas marketing and investment Suk-il Lee.

The fuel gas project will be completed in February 2001, the substation project in June 2001 and the transmission lines in February 2002.

The Saudi Electricity Company, formed last April, to undertake power generation, distribution and investments in power projects inside and outside the Kingdom.
