The Big 5 Saudi

Promoting pipes

Saudi Pipe Systems Company (SPS) will be participating in this year’s Big 5 Saudi after what it says was a productive show last year for the company, especially for promoting its valve and pipe systems and castings.

Commenting on the show, a spokesman for the Jeddah-based company says: “The show gives us the opportunity to interact and deal with a lot of corporate clients, which is the main factor that always encourages us to participate in this exhibition. Our main objective is to promote all our products to all companies in Saudi Arabia.”

Since its inception in 1995, SPS has been dedicated to producing high quality ductile iron valves and fittings in Jeddah’s Industrial Area Phase Four.

“Our engineering expertise, craftsmanship, quality materials and sophisticated manufacturing processes underpin SPS’ domestic and international reputation for excellence,” says the spokesman.

The company has maintained a policy of constant growth and expansion. In 2000, SPS established a foundry equipped with modern technology to produce manhole covers and frames, gratings and valves casting. This was followed in 2002 by a new factory to produce a wide range of glass reinforced plastic (GRP)/fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP)/reinforced thermosetting resin (RTR) and pre-insulated pipes ranging from 100 mm up to 3,000 mm in diameter and pressure rating from six to 25 bars.

In January 2004, SPS set up a highly advanced plant with a fully-automated extrusion machine to manufacture high-density polyethylene pipes (HDPE) with diameters ranging from 16 mm to 630 mm and pressure ranging from five to 16 bars. The output of the plant is 8,500 tonnes per year.

SPS products are approved by major government authorities such as the Ministry of Water and Electricity, Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Saudi Electricity Company and reputed consultant firms.

“Today our products reflect the lessons learned through more than 14 years of demanding real-world use in such diverse applications as water networks distribution systems, fire-fighting network, chilled water systems, sewage and storm water networks,” the spokesman says.
