Dubai Sports Council ... ohpopsi supplied Eco-wallpaper.

UK-based ohpopsi, a pioneer in producing bespoke designs and coverings for walls, floors, glass and ceilings for both interiors and exteriors, recently launched FloorFresco, a luxury, poured-resin picture floor that can depict any design, image or branding.

FloorFresco is an innovative flooring product that marks a new level of quality in decorative flooring, says Paul Galvin, managing director of ohpopsi. Bespoke designs are laid beneath a 4-mm clear, VOC (volatile organic compounds)-free resin flooring.

The company, which established its regional headquarters in Dubai last April, also offers a range of wall products, including eco-wallpaper, textured wallpaper, wall vinyl, glass vinyl and WallFresco. Eco-wallpaper is PVC (polyvinyl chloride)-free and is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and Greenguard-approved while WallFresco is a high-end product which replicates a ‘hand-painted’ finish, unlike standard wallpaper.

“With experience in retail, leisure, commercial, healthcare, education and residential sectors, we work closely with designers, architects, project managers and contractors to ensure designs are realised to their fullest potential through our creativity and diverse range of products,” says Galvin. “We are geared to deliver all aspects of a project, including professional installation. Positive customer relationships are essential to us and we enjoy repeat business over many years.”

ohpopsi offers consumers the opportunity to personalise their rooms at ohpopsi.com.

Describing the ohpopsi range as bespoke, innovative and unique, Galvin says: “Customisation is a growing trend in the Middle East. Specifiers are contacting us to supply bespoke products that are not otherwise readily available in the market.

“To date, our Eco-wallpaper and WallFresco products have proved very popular in this market. Eco-wallpaper has superb environmental credentials and is perfect for most commercial interiors. We believe that such products are especially well suited to the strong culture of innovation in the Middle East.”

Galvin points out that ohpopsi’s products, by their nature, are not supplied ‘off-the-shelf’ and offer unlimited design possibilities. “Key opportunities for us are therefore projects that require elements of individuality, points of difference and the ‘wow’ factor. ohpopsi products allow interior designers and end-users to deliver these elements in conjunction with ourselves,” he says.

The company has been associated with a number of projects in the region. These include the Dubai Sports Council, where the ballroom — designed by Korus Interiors — has the Dubai skyline featured on the wall. ohpopsi supplied Eco-wallpaper to this project.

Another recent project is the Woods Bagot-designed Ocean View Hotel in Dubai, which features iconic imagery on the wall in Girder bar. ohpopsi supplied textured vinyl to this project.

Other projects include the Khalifa University of Science, Technology And Research (Kustar) in Abu Dhabi, designed by Summertown Interiors, which features an interactive whiteboard wallpaper for student lounges and laboratories; and the El Manza Restaurant at Sharjah’s El Majaz, designed by Bishop Design Associates, which features vintage Moroccan photography.

On the company’s future plans, he says: “Having launched in Dubai in 2012, our plan is to continue to consolidate and grow our business within the UAE during the coming year. Our longer term plan is to expand our business within the GCC region, if not further afield.”
