SAS ceiling ... high acoustic performance.

SAS International ceiling solutions were specified for the Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC) headquarters. The two towers, also referred to as Al Bahr Towers, have been designed to provide world-class accommodation for over 2,000 employees.

“High acoustic performance was an important consideration and SAS International’s metal ceiling tiles incorporate an acoustic pad and plasterboard backing to achieve this,” says Andrew Jackson, director at SAS International.

The buildings are over-clad on the south, east and west sides by a dynamic shading system that opens and closes to provide self-shading as the sun moves around them. The project was designed in accordance with the US Green Building Council’s Leed rating system.

Meeting the needs for further acoustic controls, the glazed partitioning also creates specific areas for privacy and concentration through the provision of meeting rooms and individual offices in open-plan spaces.

If the partitioning is specified as de-mountable, interior spaces can be re-configured easily, and with today’s fit-out solutions both ceilings and partitioning can integrate seamlessly.
