Cosmoplast Industrial Company manufactures and supplies a diverse range of pipe products used in pressure and gravity fed water distribution systems, within its pipeline systems division.

''These pipes have been widely used in the rehabilitation and development of the UAE's infrastructure for water distribution, sewerage, water well casing and screen pipelines, oil and gas lining systems, drainage, irrigation, ducting and conduits,'' says a spokesman for the Sharjah-based manufacturer.

He continues: ''These pipes are manufactured from both uPVC (unplasticised polyvinylchloride), high density and low density polyethylene (LDPE and HDPE) and are manufactured to both DIN and BS International Standards.

''Their sizes range from 1/2" (13 mm) to 24" (630 mm) in diameter. ''Continuous testing of the products is carried out at Cosmoplast's Quality Control laboratory as well as periodic testing by independent parties.''

In 1997, the pipelines system division achieved ISO 9002 certification, which has this year been extended to incorporate ISO 9001 by AB Vincotte International of Belgium. Most recently, Cosmoplast has been awarded the BSI Kitemark standard for its HDPE pipes to ISO 4427.

Cosmoplast is also the Middle East agent for Fusion Group, and supplies a comprehensive range of FAST high-quality automatic butt fusion welding equipment as well as Electrofusion automatic systems.
