WORK is well in progress on the two towers that are being built by Saudi Oger at King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in Riyadh, the Saudi capital city.

As part of its scope of works on two parcels at this prestigious financial district, Saudi Oger is responsible for the construction of a hotel – which is being built on a 5,645 sq m site – and an office building, which is taking shape over a 6,407 sq m plot. The 83-m-high hotel, which will provide a built-up area of 57,310 sq m, has being designed by Goettsch Partners, while the 100-m-high office building has been designed by Kling Stubbins and offers a built-up area of  89,233 sq m.

In addition to these two towers, Saudi Oger has also been subcontracted Bombardier to design and supply the system-wide electrical and mechanical elements for the six-station monorail system in KAFD.

Meanwhile, the leading Saudi-based contractor recently won a contract to build the iconic King Abdul-Aziz Centre for World Culture in the Eastern Province at an estimated cost of SR1.8 billion ($479 million), in addition to a deal to carry out the remaining work on the new headquarters for Ministry of Education.

The company is currently executing Package One of Princess Nora Bint Abdulrahman University for Women in Riyadh, which involves an approximate built-up area of 1 million sq m. Work entails the construction of a series of colleges, schools, administrative buildings, housing facilities, medical research centre and hospital.

Its current portfolio also includes the development of Phase One of King Abdullah Road in Riyadh and the Jabal Omar Project in Makkah.

Saudi Oger is in the final stages of delivering Le Meridien Towers in Makkah and residences at the King Abdullah Economic City near Jeddah. Other key projects it has completed include: the academic and administration buildings of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (Kaust) in Thuwal, the Royal Diwan and Majles Al Shura, Al Hada Sheraton Hotel and the King Abdulaziz Interna-tional Conference Centre.
