Wallpapers from Danube ... quality offerings.

WALLPAPERS are being used to good effect to create stunning feature walls, which are the rage in interior design, according Danube Buildmart retail store chain.

“Our textured wallpapers and wall coverings provide an excellent range of design choices from the classic and the timeless, to audacious patterns and hues, while adding opulence and warmth to a feature wall,” says Syed Habib, product manager of Buildmart.

Earlier this year, Danube launched new wallpaper ranges from Sweden’s Eco and BoråsTapeter which has been well received by the market.

BoråsTapeter, Sweden’s oldest and best-known and best-selling brand, continuously develops designs, colours and textures to meet the market demands, says Habib.

“BoråsTapeter represents modern, inspiring wallpaper designs with roots in classic traditional styles while Eco Wallpaper is a brand with a young, trend-conscious expression and its range of wallpapers includes exclusive flock and bold mural designs,” he says.

In addition, Danube has its own collection of textured wallpapers which include Florence Italy, Floral & Lynx and Litte Angles, which is a collection for children.

Habib says that with 2010 being the year for bold retro-prints and floral wallpapers, having a feature wall that reflect this trend will make a room look more fashionable.

“A feature wall allows for a convenient way to give the living space a new look, provides an elbow room for dividing an open-plan space, and is ideal for those who are looking to redecorate,” he continues. “Feature walls make a statement and can make a big difference in injecting one’s personality into the room. By using textured wallpapers with strong and vibrant patterns and colours, one can be more daring without committing to a single shade throughout, and using the same colours as the accessories one will be using in the room.

“Alcoves, fire surrounds, chimney breasts or plain walls without anything that will break the flow of colour such as doors and windows are the ideal to turn into a feature wall. Walls with architectural features and interesting angles can also work as feature walls.

“Adorn the wall with vibrantly-coloured textured wallpaper and with minimum effort, watch your drab wall make a huge impact on the personality and mood of your room.”

Wall stickers, he adds, are also gaining popularity in the recent years and with their wide variety of designs and patterns the stickers can be used to decorate wallpaper.
