Sunflex coating ... protects roofs for years.

DAMMAM-based paint manufacturer Sipco offers a high-performance roof coating known as Sunflex, which provides a range of benefits including durability, strength and ease of use.

Sunflex will provide 10 years of protection when applied as per the manufacturer’s instructions, according to Ramzy Hafez, decorative division marketing manager.
It is a waterproof, high-quality, high-build, elastomeric acrylic-based roof coating that forms a tough, durable, flexible membrane. This coating protects the roof from extreme exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation and also prevents the penetration of water and water vapour into the roof substrate, he says.
Sunflex coatings can be used on substrates such as concrete, metal, wood, bitumen and asbestos. The coating, which has a non-volatile content of 60 per cent, consistency (viscosity) of 123 to 130 KU and a specific gravity of 1.32 to 1.38, can be applied with the help of a brush, roller or airless spray, he adds.
Sunflex offers a number of benefits, according to Hafez. “It is a fast and an easy-to-use alternative to preformed roofing materials such as asphalt and boards.

“In addition, it is economical, quick and easy to repair, low on maintenance, has excellent resistance to alkali, is non-toxic, and exhibits good tear and tensile strength properties,” he points out.
In addition, the product is backed by Sipco’s customer service which is offered by the highly-qualified team of engineers, technicians and applicators in its technical service department, who provide the right advice to ensure the successful application of surface coatings, Hafez adds.
Sipco is a leading name in the surface protection of industrial and marine structures. It is focused on understanding and satisfying customer needs through constantly updating its products and services.
“Continuous development of our product range has helped us enhance our quality and service,” says Hafez.
Sipco’s product range has been tested under harsh environmental conditions to ensure the highest standards of performance, according to Hafez.
While Sipco’s products are manufactured in accordance with the latest European technology, the company draws its technical know-how from Dutch manufacturer Akzo Nobel, a global leader in the coatings segment, and ICI Devo, a top American company.
The company extends its specialty services to various fields such as: fireproofing involving cementitious and intumescent coatings; marine activities that includes cargo tanks, ballast tanks, ship hulls, potable water tanks, fuel and waste tanks, superstructures and submarines; industrial complexes like petrochemical facilities, pulp and paper industries, fossil and nuclear power generation facilities, offshore drilling platforms, coatings for on-site internal/external pipe and equipment and planned turnaround painting; bridge-related work such as rehabilitation, seismic retrofit, structural repairs and engineered containment systems and staging; and electrical work involving transmission towers substations and transformers.
Sipco’s various surface preparation techniques include, wet and dry abrasive blasting, recyclable abrasive blasting, water blasting, ultra-high pressure (UHP) water blasting, UHP abrasive blasting and other methods such as power tool cleaning, solvent cleaning and chemical cleaning.
Sipco’s commitment to the environment is reflected in the methods it employs such as dust collection, recyclable abrasive blasting, UHP water blasting and UHP abrasive blasting.
